I will take some more pics when I get home. I bought a complete 15" 2001 200xs that was used in saltwater. It has a burned piston and needs rebuilt.

Thanks Capt Elim! That rubber hose in the back, what was that connected to? And the brass barb on the side?
With that plastic water fitting with the screen, I'd personally cut the screen out and add an inline screen under the cowl so you can see when it's starting to get dirty. That screen partially clogs, you don't realize it, compressor runs hot and boom.> Stainless steel Merc cowling plates - $110 shipped TYD - LINK <

Man I really don't know. I bought it partially disassembled and haven't messed with it yet. I will look at the power head tomorrow and see if I can tell where they went.

The big hose by the exhaust ports is tee'd to the t stat dumps.. the strainer hose runs up the fuel rails to the compressor and back down to the fitting below the strainer on the 1st gen's I believe. The latest ones are a little different. The boat I refitted from 280's will be back here before labor day and I'll post pics about how we went about the plumbing. Yes if your boating in anything but clean water that strainer is a pita.

Merc is now accepting 2014 orders on these things for their fall production. Looks like orders/deposits have to be in by the end of September.
