Dale, can you purchase the skirts? I know they would be expensive, probably $400 per engine if you can find a dealer that will deal.

Yes, but at $850 each, forget it! That's retail of course, so I can get them for less, but not even close to $400 each. The bottom pan is now around $1,500 and the cowls are $1,800. Merc must have recently had a price jump, because the bottom pans were not near that expensive last time I checked, nor were the skirts - that I remember. Also checked to see if the Gen II is different than the Gen I. No part # even comes up for the Gen II block, but the crank and pistons are different part #s from the Gen Is (prior to 2010 model year). So the Gen I and Gen II are definitely different. We checked the plenum part # and they are the same, so it seems as if the differences are more internal. Back to your original post, I would like the look of the engines better with the skirts, but the difference in looks isn't worth the $$$.

Complete motors only, either ROS or SST, although conversion kits had initially been offered.

    Dale,

Going out this weekend for the first time.

Just want to get some seat time in it and get it in the water.

Got everyting I wanted to get done on it but the Lakeland shift shaft seal. I'll put some time on it ,
then drain the lower unit and refill it when I put the kit on. I don't plan on pushing it too hard until
I get a feel of the boat.

The computers are at DBR getting the rev limiters raised from the ROS setting of 7,000 rpm to the SST200 setting of 8,000 rpm.

the ROS is NOT limited to 7000 rpm from my experience, just a reminder beep at 7100 and still climbing hard. The motors are very smooth/comfortable at high rpm, breath well and have great torque all the way up so should be good for some extra speed for you. Rigging looks great so far Rayzor, any plan yet for your trim senders?

Would't touch the limiters on them, it all works together- injectors, reeds, compressor, ect.

    RiverRocketOn Juice

Jaco's has just listed these motors on their wed site for $16,500.00 which is a far cry from what Mercury racing suggest dealers retail them for which is $19,300.00
