Your welcome, A lightweight powerhead bolted on top of HD components provides great balance to the overall package, something you can't help but notice when you start dancing through the rough stuff. The boats overall weight is carried lower, the hull is pushed from closer to the water, totally wicked advantages that become more evident/beneficial when pushing hard in rough conditions. Tough to pull this kind of ability/agility/balance from a data sheet. Every reason in the book the new RACE MODELS are based on the 2.5 powerhead. Bolt on a big block powerhead that weighs 60 pounds more to the same assembly- sorry advantage lost.

    That's great! Thank you.

As for the warranty I think it's obvious.Normaly this engine can only bought by racing teams. So that means the engine is going to be raced. Tell me who is giving a warranty for tstuff that is going to be raced with? I dont think many manufacturers will do this....

Interesting racers are just changing to GEN 2 powerheads, MY understanding is only complete motors available for the ROS. conversion kits only for SST racers. Must have built some kits for the ROS as well. makes me wonder about the tuner?

Cold lake Alberta Canada is located on the Alberta- Saskatchewan border in about the middle of the provinces. Southern edge of the northern boreal forest, some of the finest freshwater on the planet. don't get me started. The ROS likes the cold water, has to be a hot day for temp to reach 100 when cruising or pushing hard.

Might be like you say in the states but here in Europe there is a ROS conversion kit available. Got one in the garage.

I agree. I also found this on the Merc Website somewhere.

    There is a conversion kit for a XR2 to 200XS gen2.

I wonder what the price is for the conversion kit and what comes with the kit?

Did the Gen 1 ss use the big vertical trim/tilt ram or the just the little horizontal trim ram?

Wait a minute, what is this conversion kit that our European brethren can get. Are there any more details on the GenII "conversion kit" ?

Initially, I know a conversion kit was offered for SST-120 racers which included the complete powerhead,upper/lower cowls/tuner and SSM gearcase. Was NOT aware of a powerhead kit for the ROS, BUT was told about half of first batch of GEN 2's were complete motors, the other half conversion kits for BOTH SST and ROS. Was also told that this years preordered batch would be the last time kits would be available. complete motors only going forward.

Real performance figures on these motors should include a comparison of fuel consumption at corresponding levels of output. Then we could measure, compare and access true performance. Any increase in performance and speed from previous models or other engines should be measured against the amount of fuel used to create the said output. 82.5 liters/hr at WOT. 259 total engine hours and 3842 liters of fuel consumed.
