    Question 77 jet drive conversion

I am new to the jet boat world but have always been very fond of them. This is also my first boat. I got this boat for free, has been setting for 19 yrs since last registration anyways. I have began to re-floor the boat. It is a 77 omega with a 403? 300hp @4800 rpm. I have built plenty of race cars and know about ford and chevrolet, but never a 403? Anyways, motor runs perfect pump works great, but I have seen all the boats with the adjustable jet drives. Where they can spray the massive rooster tails. My main question is how could I make this conversion with out getting a divorce over a price? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Energizer kit. It converts you pump to a Berk style bowl. Then all the Berk accessories fit. Contact Tom @ Jet Boat Performance or American Turbine.

the yj will limit you on your diverter choices as there are no kits on the market that will bolt on other than the above kit mentioned that will convert your cuzzi over to a berkeley clone. however this kit is around 2000.00 plus labor to install as a general market price. all this said your yj is manually adjustable and if you can find one did at one time from the factory have a hyd unit. dont know if they are still available.

I'd think you could find a nice Berkeley or Dominator pump better suited for the conversion. If it's a big heavy boat the YJ may be ok, for a smaller, lifting type hull, the later style mixed flow pumps are the ticket.

there is a power unit off the golden jet or omc version of your yj pump that goes where you manual adjuster is but doubt it would make a big difference, the enegyzer would be your easyest route

Thanks for the input. Had no idea it was so expensive. I wouldnt mind if it was manual. Kind of what i had in mind. This boat is pretty big, and a open bow. Seats quite a few. It doesnt have any kind of adjustment right now.

my yj had a screw on top where you can see the head from the rear about 4 in long, i think there were 4 allen head bolts holding the adjuster on, this is were the power one mounts, like i said dont know how much it affects the rooster tail, just saw a power unit sold on ebay, didnt even know they were available till then
