    Waldorf Astoria, NYC - 1902

The first Warldorf Astoria hotel in New York City. Note all the milk bottles on the window sills. In 1930, this hotel was torn down and the Empire State Building was erected in its place.

It's a real shame that it got torn down, no matter what replaced it... Imagine the scaffolding that was needed to do all the brick work, amzing... People simply just don't get it anymore...

    Amen

New buildings have no style anymore.
I agree 110%. I think the same thing when I look at the old photo's from Shreveport where I live. The architecture was much better then. Now it's all about the cheapest and fastest way to get the building up. It's sad to see some of the old buildings and houses torn down in the name of progress

That building is so much more beautiful than any that I have seen in NY...everything now is so commercial.
