Another bud came out there with his eleven year old daughter. She's taken an interest in flying and has a small coaxial heli that she's proficient with. Not having a buddy cable to run two Spektrums with (got to order one quick), I elected to have John put her on the sticks and fly the Fugly Bird of mine.
To make matters interesting, the Fugly Bird is obviously beat and banged. I kept telling the guys that it was going in the trash can after this weekend anyhow.
Glad I kept that attitude.
So here we are doing the hand launch and she's getting ready.
And the end result...
Why is 'she' smiling? What costs nothing, means nothing right? But at least she got to experiment a little. I suggested a Real Flight simulator and of course me buying the buddy cable as it just makes sense.

New project... I just started building this yesterday.
I got my new Align T-rex 450 Pro V2 3GX Super Combo kit today. This is a flybarless heli with a 3-axis gyro system and a shaft-driven tail. I will be building this over the next few weeks. Stay tuned...

That's about as good as it gets!!!
BTW I used a set of digital calipers to get all the rod links equal lengths.
BTW #2, get some extra parts. You'll find out which ones when you burn it in. My 500 has a bit more inertia so your crashes may not be as costly.

Beat me to it Pyro ! Damm! Been busy with the Bass Tracker and fishing in what little spare time i have had lately but you got exactly what i had decided to order. I will definitely be keeping a close eye on this. How about some pics and such as you go like a build thread?
Been flying these little things like crazy! Have the swash way advanced and the batteries moved way forward. Believe it or not these suckers do about 40 mph outside!
I got me a P-51 as well ...haven't had time to fly it yet...Ron Paul 2012 Because its an election, not a Cult...

My 13 year old brother in law got one of those $50 mall choppers (little overpriced) and it's awesome! Very basic like pyro's first pic. I have an "Esky Lama v3" which is 4 channel with dual rotor w/swash plate - no tail rotor. It flies ok but I feel like it never trims out quite right - always wants to wander around too much and seems to be off balance despite any efforts to correct it... I bought 2 of the Syma S107's from ebay for $21 a piece and their more fun! I could get it to hover and be dead on and land way easier.

I built the rest of my 450 today. Took about 4 hours total. Figuring out the 3GX flybarless electronics setup takes a special degree of patience. I should have taken some pix along the way. Spektrum AR6210 receiver is on the bottom, remote satellite receiver on the side, and 3GX unit up on the gyro tray. I hid the wiring inside wherever possible. I have some replacement tail grip bearings on order, as the kit bearings are known for very early failure on this model. Naturally, I plan on bleeding off the inertia with the heli on its skids. Here it is, all completed.

My little 4 channel Miniwolfs are a blast to fly. Very stable and trim out perfect and will even do pretty good in a very light breeze if the swashplate is advanced and the battery moved forward. I have mine so advanced i have to pull the stick all the way back to hover. Once the top blade grip gets wore in where the top blade has some slop where it henges to the shaft ive found that it will go really fast on a strait run outside and seems to keep building speed until you let off the forward stick. A fresh one out of the box thats still stiff doesnt fare so well on speed because it wont nose in as much...Ive gotten so good with it i am kinda bored with it already. Gonna go strait to the big boyz from here....
Chad, make some video's please...Looking good !

Co-axials are always limited in forward flight speed, since the upper rotor is constantly fighting the swashplate's input to the lower rotor to provide stability.
The Blade mCPx is a fantastic micro collective-pitch heli. I love mine.'89 Hydrostream Vegas XT, '90 Merc 2.4 Bridgeport PCU EFI

Still trying to get this Hangar 9 P-47 together. Need to mill out some blocks for the retracts and wait for some other gear to come in before finishing up. Plan is to get it ready for static use in the house & then fly once we arrive stateside. Already have the 50cc engine but want to upgrade to air retracts before actual flight.
