Was this the one that got wrecked on the first flight? Is yours the smaller "parkflyer" F-18?

Pyro, I never wrecked it on the first flight. I wrecked the original RTF version on the 3rd flight (lost signal) then glued it back together and totaled it on about the 7th flight by running in to a cluster of baseball field lights lol. The one pictured wasnt purchased as a RTF . I already had new wings, elevators and vertices as extra parts for my original so i just purchased a new fuselage and built the one you see in the pics with all aftermarket parts. I have only flown it 4 times now and it is fast and still in one piece. (been windy down here for months)
Yes the one pictured is the smaller Art -Tech 64mm F-18 (not the very small 50mm) if that's what your thinking. Its about 43" long.

How does your 70mm land for you? Can you cut the power and glide in ?
This is my new Kit Version 70mm Exceed F-18 Diamondback . Its the same size as yours but has electric metal retracts and comes with carbon tubes already in the wings and elevators but they dont go all the way thru the fuse. It comes with extra optional 2 seat canopy and gobs of bombs and missiles, Its also EPO. I'm gonna do a long list of mods to this one as well and put a Sapac motor fan combo in it on 5s. Should fly pretty fast but i still dont think it will run with my stripped down 4s 64mm . Just to much plane to go real fast if you ask me....we will see the.... Check out the suspension metal Retracts! I will be doing some mods to make the rears have a wider stance (more scale).

I tried a dead-stick landing this evening at your recommendation. It needs a little bit of very careful pull-up flare at the perfect moment to soften the landing.

I made some surface trim changes this morning, and it didn't work out. I was flying crooked most of the flight, then had a nasty tip stall over the lake, careened straight down, I pulled up inches over the water, it actually made waves as it pulled away. Whew...

Exactly. That's what i usually do. Bank to slow it down some and bring it in real low about 4 or 5 ft above the ground , let the speed bleed off and right before the stall flare it up and set it down ! plop..... Now that mine (the 64mm) is modified to 4s i have to work the throttle during landing to keep it from setting down to hard and fast and it takes a lot more room to slow down .... You should have that thing down pretty quick sense you can fly those Heli's that good....

I lawn-darted the mCPx into the neighbor's yard tonight and snapped another tail boom while doing some flips. It's all fixed now, and ready for camping this weekend.

Gots me some goodies today HET 2w-20 3400KV/6904 fan, ESC package. This thing will haul arse and the sound this fan makes is killer.
Got me another SAPAC MB1 fan/motor combo for 5 and 6s setups. This will be interesting

I gave my MSr away... POS.

Built another head for my 500... 99% complete with more parts on order. I'll have an extra head with blades plus a complete extra tail.... So when I crash... not if, I can swap out parts in a matter of minutes, trim it and go and crash it again.

That is a bad ass motor if it is 6S. I need to get something fixed wing so I can use my heli bats in it too.

I thought about you the other day, Troy, when I saw a jet launcher! I bet that would be easy to make though!

The bungy launchers are pretty easy to make . The Blue SAPAC motor pictured above is a 4s motor but can be ran on 5s all day long and now there are guys running them on 6s for short bursts and getting by. The great thing about the blue SAPAC fan/motor combo above is its only $45 and will make 965 watts on 4s power .
The HET power set is 4s but a few are running it on 5s and getting by. The 2w-20 and 6904 fan should make more power than the SAPAC on 4s and will sound way better. Its pricey compared to the SAPAC...

Correction on SAPAC MB1, thats 965 watts on 4s : ) On a good strong 5s it will make 1400 to 1900 watts depending on the battery and esc you use.
