Once any rotor blades have been damaged, even slightly, throw them out. Never attempt to repair rotor blades. I'm sure I don't have to tell you what can happen if one of those comes apart during a flight. Also, I think most of the Blade CP Pro aluminum parts are interchangeable with the SR, but double check.

You have a good point. Maybe i wont mess with the blades afterall. I'll check on the CP Pro parts, i would figure they would be the same.

Looks like we're going to be working a deal out with XHeli to give away some RC helis!

Ive had the mcx for a while now and just ordered the falcon 40 from xheli. I havnt broke anything and havnt bought any tools or spares for either heli yet. should i order that $35 tool set? and what spares should i keep handy for both? Greg, since you have these 2 and every other heli out i figured youd be able to answer these questions!

I almost hate to see everyone getting excited about the Falcon 40. The Esky Honeybee fixed-pitch helis seem to have better parts availability and more upgrade options.
You don't need any special tools for either heli, besides a philips screwdriver and the included allen wrench.
Get a training gear set like Greg has. I could have saved about $40 on blades by now if I had spent the $10 back then...'89 Hydrostream Vegas XT, '90 Merc 2.4 Bridgeport PCU EFI

I guess there selling alot of the SR's cause the parts seem to be sold out already. I'm going to have to go to a few shops to get the parts, if not I have to order them. I'll be sure to stock up on blades and main gears. That little brushless motor eats the main gear up if you dont get the throttle shut off quick enough. I still cant believe how much damage was done to mine from its little incident. That tail boom is pretty stiff and it got bent. Oh I'll be getting training gear this time too.

I actually bought my Falcon 40 because I saw Chad's. I'm very pleased with it, and I've not had any failures with it. It's super simple and very easy and inexpensive to operate, which is another reason I bought it. I also like the way it flies - it's obviously not a high performance heli, but it's powerful enough to teach you how to fly a non-stabilized heli. As Chad said, use the training gear - it's an absolute must if you're going from the mCX to a FP heli like the Falcon 40. You'll need a lot more space for the Falcon as well while you're learning. The included radio is quite good too. One thing - when you remove the heli from the packaging, tighten the blade grips just a bit so there's no play in there but they still swivel easily. The blades are shipped loose in the grips - or at least mine were.
I purchased the $35 tool set and I am very impressed with it. If you don't have small screwdrivers I think it's something to look at. They are very well made and the included ball-link pliers are really cool and useful.
