    Yamaha 40 Four Stroke

    Guys,

I have always bled black , but I found a skiff that has a 1999 Yamaha 40 four stroke. Question is, is there a way to read the run time on these motors off the ECU's? Also, wasn't some of the eailier mercury 40 four strokes yamaha powerheads?

    Thanks

No, and No. But I will say that is a hell of a little motor. Lighter that the 40 2 stroke. Use a little diameter mercury prop, I call the possum ears, the blades look like a set of possum ears. Run that prop, you will love the motor.
