They are right dot to dot If the crank says its zero it is anything else it would show different. Sounds like you have other issues. I am not a lover of unilite, however if it ran good before it should again. When running spray wd40 around the manifold and carb to see like mentioned before leaks, especially the crankcase pcv line.

right on, i havent heard anything possitive about the unilites. the mallory stuff was just on the boat when i bought it. prolly gonna go with msd dist next go around. i think my problem is a combination of things. with the failing dist being one of em. ill post back when i get a chance to spend some time in the garage...(wifes gettin jealous of the boat)

This sounds craze, I"ve been there, pull distributor and ck shaft for alignement? The pointer should line up with rollpin on gear, had one twist on me and fought it for a month. This will set your timing off.

Change your coil and see if it works,sometimes when coils set around they can get dropped and there is a oil seal that can go bad.

Yes that is dot to dot , but number 1 fire is crank at 12:00 and cam the same
