Jeff, welcome to SnF. I will take a stab at what you are asking.
Are you trying to ID your boat? A pic would help a ton. Do a google search for a Glaspar G3, is that your model? That was made by Larson at one time?
Any gas tank should work fine.

I doubt a G-3 came with a do-do penta. It's a deep V 17 footer from the 70's. The motor is a 2.0 or 2.1 volvo 4cyl with a no choke stromberg or solex. Not a desireable package by any means. The hulls ride nice in rougher water. there a a few O/B versions around here yet.

I realize this response is probably too late to of any help to the original poster, but since I ran across this thread via a google search I thought it might be helpful to someone else.

I, too, have a 1974 glasspar 165 cutlas. It has been in my family since new. Though it has a mercruiser 120 rather than a volvo, the gas tank would likely be the same.

It has an 18 gallon steel tank on the left side of the engine. The left rear seat beside the engine cover sits on top of it.
