What impeller are you running ?

I need to buy a new Impeller and I have no idea what i really need. I have been told that my old one is a B but it does not measure up 8 7/8 large diameter 7" ssmall diameter. My old one has chunks missings out of it. Last year with a mild 30 over 454 boat went 75 on gps turning the motor 5000 RPM and this year i feel good by saying that i have twice the hp over last year, I do know that i do need to buy a stainless one but as for the size? I am thinking, buy any of the chart's that i am looking at that i should be buying a 9.5 to get the rpms do where i would like to see them. My boat is TX19 youngblood Blown big block chevy sorry NO dyno numbers 8 3/4 static compression blower turning 17 1/2% over engine builder is telling me well over 700hp but we all know how that goes.

A race prepped "A" impeller would keep your RR's at bay, otherwise an AA will work for you.

A 9.5 impeller will make a low rpm cruiser impeller for you, but you do not have enough power to pull it on top end. If you are the type that has to see and feel it rather than hear it form those who have done it, buy a 9.5. Put it in and you will see what it does. The good part is that you can take if back out and turn it down a size and try it again. By the time you get it cut down to the size that works well with your engine you will understand what the guys have been trying to tell you that you need. When we sell someone a new impeller, we have a tendency to sell on the large size. Then we offer the cuts that you may want later for free, if you bought the impeller from us. Once you buy an impeller that is too small for your application, you're stuck with it and have to buy another one to solve the problem.
By getting a larger one and getting the cuts in size free, you only have to buy 1 impeller.

I agree with sleekcrafter but you may be able to go larger.
Here is a general chart (from AmericanTurbine Owners Manual) that may help ballpark it. I have a TJ309(ugh) in a relatively large jetboat (Taylor LP) it has proven accurate for my boat so far, but I'm only around the 400-425hp mark.
