Saw 3 paramounts out last weekend in Fort Myers/Bonita Springs Fl over the weekend. >>Is the boats owner that ran in the Gulf toward Fort Myers Beach on the forum? We ran wide open side by side. Boat took chop nicely.
Happily Misunderstood....

This pic is what mine looks like when it "releases" from the hook. Now I've only owned the boat for a year, added a 6"hydraulic plate and spin a 26p Tempest on a 225 carbed Merc. Console and leaning post are setback a foot from the norm. Running light on fuel, I reach 70. At about 65-66, I literally feel it "release" from the hook. Now I've gotta run her more because she starts to walk on me. The better I get at driving her, perhaps I'll squeeze a little more out of her............or maybe I'll see if the wife will let me buy Baja's 300x! Ive seen them setup with the consoles and leaning posts setback like mine, along with at least 12" of setback on a hydraulic plate and 300s on them down south. They blow right by me! It may have been one of those guys that called Baja about his engine that he posted earlier in the thread?
I don't claim to be an expert at all fellas, perhaps some of the hulls were built with a more pronounced hook than others? Not sure? But if what I said helps one of you out, than that'd be cool. If it doesn't, we'll at least you tried, that's what the premise of this great forum is anyway! Try anything for that extra few mph..........even if it is a flat riding, slow ass Paramount. Either way, gotta say, I sure do have a lot of fun in mine.

Hey guys, just found the thread.I've had my Paramount for 15 years had 2 different motors and several props.Everybody post reguarding speeds and props are accurate for the most part. With the 250 efi with a 24 inch setback and a manual 6in jack with the motor setup for all round use I run 66 with a 23 laser2 and 70 with a 25.I thought aboutselling her for a new style bay boat but I cant find one that does better than what a Paramount will do.I'll try to get some fresh pics soon.

Have you ever ran it with less setback? I am trying to find someone who has ran less and more so I can hear opinions on how more improved speed and how less improved ride. At least that's the theory. Glad to see another one running 70 to. Thrilled actually...
I wish somebody close to me had one that I could go ride in to get me more pumped up to finish mine1986 Laser 380 comp- being re-done... slowly...
