Depends on what year?hp you have. The porting on on the 150 is 1.710 to the champher and the 91 150 and 175's are 1.610. If it is a 150 and you raise to the 175 specs and jet up it should work very well, it is like putting 175 sleeves in a 150. I tap and plug the idle relief but don't cut the heads because I don't have any way to cut the squish band back in. I have a 175 right now that I plugged the idle relief and rasied the champher, not the port, .040 I will know in a few days how this works out. Just my .02 worth.

You have a domed piston, when you cut the heads the squish band will no longer match the piston and the piston will start to hit the head. Squish band is the part of the head before the actual chamber.

That is why when you cut the heads, you have to cut it back in. Squish band is the clearance between the piston and the head. OMC's use a domed piston and have a dome cut in the head. That is why you have to recut it.
