All we care about is doing over 100 mph with old motors. Bring it back from dead, smoke up the whole launch and leave all the new stuff in the rooster!

funny this thread came back up from the dead, I havent found much info at all on the 3.4 mercs when i was looking around for it. I am in the process of installing one on a 1989 monza 23' center console, actually bought two, both 1985 300's one 25" offshore motor and the other a 20" but the 20" has a twisted prop shaft and driveshaft. I will hang the 25" for now on a 14" bobs action jackplate, after i get it running i will probable change out the powerhead for the one off the 20" its a low hour engine that looks brand new.

Is there any std cowlings around? We have two with "well used" racing 3,4 Formula EFI cowlings, but The engines are std 1983/1984 300s so we are looking for the normal cowlings and brackets. Please send email to erik@playmarine.no if you got something. I haven't been on S&F for a few years... But always a pleasure to read your posts! Blue smoke is the thing!

I like the irony that merc built a 3.4 engine that was not a big success and now brp have a 3.4
