I have seen some cheat boxes too, dont think i would like to try them though, they splice into the loom and i was told they interfere with the EMM voltage.
They are on ebay, i think they are like a power commander.
Really impressed with your outfit, i think mine weighs about 600-650kgs in total, with out me in it. just got hold of some props to try but i have no idea what they are, i know one is a chopper 26". but i have 2 others i know nothing about apart from one is a 28" spinelli, so all i can do is try.
did you find much improvement with the holes in the airbox? i did with a 115 etec i used to race with.

Before Rapair figured out the ProMax ECU, we hooked up a vacuum pump that would trick the box into going lean and it would pull harder on the top end.

The eTec box is much more sophisticated. Hopefully, they'll keep getting into racing and will provide a service for race boxes. Somebody will crack it at some point I would imagine.

maybe another mile an hour or two

I was digging around and found an allison prop spacer I had used it with the looper 200 on the allison with the big looper.

i'm going out next tues and thought i would substitute it for the stock spacer with the 29 sst rx i have.

i dont see much talk about spacing the prop back on the shaft, but as i remember the theory is the prop has more leverage so you dont need as much trim to air out maybe it will hold off the blow out.

heres a picture of the aluminum spacer allison made.....back a long time ago...actually then I had a 150 60 degree on there and ran the 26 allison cut chopper, of course with the rev limiter bypassed.

perhaps with fine tuning the 83 mph blowout barrier on my setup, can be moved up a couple mph

heres a pix of the spacer

    low emission o.b.

so now my 2006 small block e-tec is gone.

..all I have left is an old 1991 allison rr hull .with evinrude rigging the fuel in the tank is 3 weeks old...my last run with the 200 e-tec

i saw 83 with the e-tec..i posted it on you tube ..joels outboard ... the allison posts...you can skip by the seagull attack videos if you like

so this thread musta' kinda' wore out on low emission motors.

its been weeks since anybody was here

yep for me too right now.

so the e-tec came off , and within 2 hours, my old 60 degree 175 went on the jackplate.
.i've got the old race motor.. bobs allison coned gearcase, i gotta' clean and jet the CARBS,
I have the 29 sst rx....the e-tec pulled the rev limiter at 6080.

I guess i gotta switch topics to ........something like..

7th evinrude engine rigged out on allison r.r. and the speed is???????????

so thanks for letting me run with the low emission...guys..

.goin back to a carbie...and i can bypass the rev limiter on this one by crossing up a couple wires

my mind tells me to look for and want..... something here for the first run
.if i can pull any more than 6080...I'm going FASTER!!

trying to finish by the """"200"""shootout
thanks for this thread, and believe me I did enjoy that e-tec

SO why dont you like the Etecs performance? Was it simply being limited to what was built in at Sturtevant? If so thats cool, I thought from your posts you seemed pretty happy, now that 175 is a hot motor, Ive spoke to some guys that say if you have the good 1991 heads its a 195+hp motor stock? If thats the case yes its gonna be faster, or no? I have heard that BRP is working or planning on making the 2.6liter 200 a real 200, Im hoping we can get 210hp and have the weight of the 150, then you guys send her to Tinus or Bobs, put in your stiffer mounts and go, or would it still be bad? How are you guys gonna have fun in the future when legislation makes old motors obsolete? Shoot what am I gonna do? Now has ANYONE ever tested a 3.3 or 3.4liter BRP on a Ally? I know the 3liter mercs have been used, even though your not supposed to, but the Stream guys are putting HUGE motors on boats designed for a 90 or 115, Ronnie? I know of some Bulllet guys running 250 HOs, but havent heard of a 21 SUV or Bass runnin anything but Merc, I mean someone that likes allys has to not like Merc, ya know what I mean? Im still waiting for my 175 HO E-TEC, I could then tell the Bass crowd, suck it, since the 150 HO is sticking with the 175 Pro xs on most hulls, sometimes beating them, just ask Sam. Brannon
