Based on his other posts...I think he means 5980. I thought the same thing when I saw it.

Goodride says 6980 would be even more fun I wish ..I could see 6980

I meant to write 6000.......and like we mentioned before, it seems like I can sneak up on the 6000 and not get the limiter wind up to around 5500 and then back off to hold that rpm and then ease up to 6000...and I hald it steady for 9 minutes.......

    6980 anytone??

    e-tec smallblock....blowout video

So i have had the allison out about a dozen times, and with the stock gearcase I got 85.1 only once most runs are 82.4 82 8.

I got a you tube account, and if you go to ...........joels outboard .......

ive got several runs with a gps in the picture...on the blowout run, 1 bump of the trim..took us there....I was milking the trim up to creep up on the rev limiter and went a touch to far..
so another fly by was the allison at 82, coming by a redfisher at 54 so you can hear the sound of the e-tec zinging by at.....about 135 mph.

going out next tuesday pm for some more videos

    turn up the sound!!!

Cool....I'll check it out. You'll be able to carry more trim if you run by yourself so I would think 85-87 would be possible if you run by yourself...you'll start running into limitations of the non-noseconed gearcase.

I'm convinced with mine, I could get it to 92-93 by myself on a big enough lake with the low water pickup nosecone.

    Wantin' 90

Hello sam....I need more prop. but since I'm not racing, at 5600 or so. ive got a nice 75 mph.

where we run is mostly canals and they are not that wide....if you go to the joels outboard on you tube you can see I was in the widest part of the canal when I pushed it to blowout......the e-tec sounds so good and if you watch the other video..you can listen to 135 mph flyby.

A yacht captain around town has a motorized paraglider...like a parachute with an engine on it.
he only cruises at 20mph. but thats ok...we are going to get some videos from just above rooster tail height...maybe 20 feet off the water, and make some passes, getting overhead lookdown shots.

hope to do it next tuesday if the winds die down.

I cant help but ask a question...what about a light shot of nitrous right up the front of an e-tec....the inlet stacks are empty and on my 70 chuck at nitrox fixed me up with a blow thru like this.....we ran methanol with castor oil and believe it or not my little v-bottom was clocked at 82...about the same as the allison..

just enough to get another 5-10 not set on kill!!

as for me at 62 i'm ok with what i have now, and the e-tec is a good motor.. like you each time i start it i have to pull have any tps input to trap it in slow.

    have fun...go fast

Depending on your rig, the OMC SRX is a great prop. They come in 27 and 29" pitches. Good bow lift, good accelleration, and they're very reasonably priced.

Get rid of the guy holding the GPS and just hold it yourself, throw the 29 on there and let 'er eat! I predict you'll see 80+.
Was this still with the 150 ho, on your allyshot Sam?

I wonder when someone will start to alter the pak for E-tecs ( race use only of course) so they rev a bit harder.
One E-tec snowmobile engine is limited to 8500
BRP says injectors are good for 10k

thisgets asked so many times, i have been wondering for years. i understand that emmisions has a great deal to do with it and because racing is such a small percentage of the market it is not viable, at the moment, i am sure i will be corrected if i am wrong, although i would like to see a 15" mid section and open exhaust for racing too!

phantomuk...i have a river racer model and with the old looper i would hit the scales at 1375 with me in it. When I got the boat new at allison, they lift it on a scale when the put it on your trailer and as i remember it was 680, and that was with ride guide no gas tank or battery.

I have a 22 gallon aluminum tank and afull sized battery, the guy takin pictures in the back seat weighed 200..so i'm guessing about16-1700 lbs

thats a 200 etec, a 2006 with nothing done but 6 additional 1 inch holes in the back of the airbox and my biggest prop is a 29 sst rx, and no problem hitting the rev limiter.
I would like to try a noseconed gearcase, and something like a 30 or 32???
in the video, at least for me...the acceleration from 20-65 comes pretty darn quick.

the e-tecs pull like a locomotive.

I cant find it again, but I saw an ad..I think australian guys have a cheater box, that the ad said it fools the oxygen sensor and timing and adds almost 10 % horsepower....
