care to post a picture of one that has done it? Surely you must have proof to make a statement like that. Or are you just saying that based on never even seeing or using one?

well for starters Mercury does not make a SM for that engine , so what benefit would it be to have 2- 700 lb 4 stroke behemoth with all those extra moving parts to break and not have a gearcase that will do over 80 MPH ????????

care to site some examples and show pictures of this?

It sounds like you have bought into a certain outboards infomercials hook, line and sinker. Yes there are more moving parts, but where is the proof of failures? The Verados have been out long enough, if there were any major flaws, we'd have seen them. They are built like the proverbial brick XXXXhouse

I for one would love to see a few examples of the mythical broken midsection or hear how much of a PITA the guardian mode is from actual Verado owners.

as far as I's concerned, there is no animosity in what I am sayin, just a little discussion among enthusiasts.

Check out the "Grove Slam Results" on thehulltruth.com, it will also give you a good laugh, but it seems that everyone had guardian mode kick in that was running the 350s. They were all trip or quad CCs running a lil "race" some with "pro" drivers so i'm sure they know how to throttle..

I fish the SKA pro tour... I personally run 3 x 300 verados on a 38 fountain. Some of my pro tour buddies run run the white motors and some run the grey. I can tell you that after the abuse we put them through they ALL have problems. I have seen many newer white gearcases and powerheads blown up. I have run 100 miles each way to the fishin grounds in 4-6 footers. I have launched the boat 6 ft in the air too many times to count. The verados have never gone into guardian mode after one of these launches and I have never seen one let go from the clamp bracket. My barge will run 74 mph with 300's and the same barge with 300xs will run 76 and with 350 verados it will run 82 mph. Also with quad 300 xs it will run 86... The 350 verados are STRONG!!! They rev to 6800 and have new bullet proof gearcase. I have seen a 350 yami break loose from the clamp. Also saw a hpdi yami blow up and shoot the wrist pin out through a 2 inch hole in the gearcase. 900 hard hours on my verados and still going strong.

As efficient as the 300 XS is and less than half the moving crap inside why on earth would you want a 4 stroke ?? I would get laughed at hard with 2- 4 stokes on the back of a 32 Skater , I'm having a hard enough time only to going 100 MPH as it is . So your telling me a 4 stoke gearcase will go 100 no problem ??

I think for your application 300 xs are the best. However I would love to see someone try the 350's on a cat. I think we would be surprised..jmo

Plenty of cats run over 100 with standard bravo cases. The new verado case is alot like a bravo case. Not trying to argue... I said I like the 300 xs on a cat. I am just saying I think you would be surprised at the power of the new 350.

I have never seen One cat run over 100 with a stock bravo , sportmaster or Imco yes , not a blunt nose standard Bravo small shaft case
