    150 V- 150 inline parts swap.

    I have a 79 model 150 V6 20 in. Will the lower unit swap with a 75 model 150 20 in. Thanks for any help.

    old mercs

    The Drive shaft has to be made longer..... by a small bit. Leave out the front stud. It is weeker so it will last as long as it does.

    Thanks Dave. Can I swap the drive shaft from the inline to the V. What is weaker, the L/U out of the V.

    The in-line won't last on the V. Also the shift shaft won't line up.

    I'll keep that stored in memory. I wanted the lower off of the v for the inline. I've seen inlines with swept back skegs and hoped it would fit.

    Later model inlines did have a swept back skeg and square plate. Look for later 115 with ADI ignition, not dist.
