Alien Cowl fitment question

I have the Simon Alt kit and the Eagle Alien cowl. I had to modify my cowl to fit the Alt kit. Does anyone know if the Bob's or Factory Alien cowl fits without any mods?

Mine is a factory alien cowl, and it fits just fine over the Simon Alt Kit.

Not sure why our unit won't fit the Simon Kit but we've had one more instance of this in the past, but several people with the kit have had no problem to our knowledge so I'm guessing they modified a bracket to solve the problem. As I understand it touches the inset near the top?? I have no answer as to why but our unit was pulled directly off an early Alien Factory unit. I think the factory unit may have been changed slightly when the 280's with alternators came out?? If anyone orders a cowling and will tell us it needs to fit the simon kit the easy solution is to put a 3.0 liter top on a 2.5 base. The extra 2 1/2 inches in height will clear it easily. I think I may have told you this on the phone. Sorry you've had a problem but our unit does fit the 280 which has an external alternator just fine.

You're correct, that was me you spoke to. If that's the case I'll order one of the taller ones. I was just hoping someone would chime in that has the alt kit and confirm the fitment.
