    Hey

Bobs Machine sells an exhaust mod that is what you want

    <TABLE cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=2 width=550 align=center bgColor=#00c4c4 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top align=middle width="100%">Outboard Exhaust Housing</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
    <CENTER><TABLE cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=2 width=550 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width="42%">
    Exhaust Housing designed for Outboards
Without modification to the engine, this simple, after-market add-on is designed to relieve back pressure on the engine, and results in more efficient low-end throttle response, a better tuned engine and increase fuel economy.
The unit comes complete with two removable plugs and four screws, so the casting can be installed on the back of your motor within a matter of minutes.
By removing two plugs the unit will allow exhaust which normally travels through the propeller to escape above the water line, and consequently this results in your engine breathing and performing better. Replace the plugs in the unit and exhaust will travel through the prop again.
    </TD><TD width="58%">

please do a search and make sure you install this correctly...or buy an offshore unit...if you do the mod to your mid section be sure to watch it caredully mids have been known to break there..trust me.... not sure why you want it loud anyway but alos here on the board is a good way to drill your mid like a bass mid....the artical was done bt Talon2.5 ......maybe someone can post the link

You may want to run it with the stock mid first and see how it sounds. Even with a fully lined bass mid, it might be still loud enough to leave your ears ringing.

Drilling the mid on the rear or sides significantly weakens the casting in an area prone to "twisting" stresses (called horsepower and thrust ) that tend to cause cracks to develop around exhaust relief holes, even when using aftermarket snouts like the Bob's. The "Talon2.5 pipe snout" idea mentioned above is a better alternative.

You can also instead drill a few holes in the bottom of the mid on either side as many have done, this will make the exhaust outlets low enough to where you can trim up at idle for some bark around the docks, but still be able to bury to trim to quiet it down while the cops administer a decibel test. ANY kind of drilling can cause changes in the dispersion of mechanical stresses in the midsection, and can cause cracking or breaking.

My Bridgeport is mounted on a stock "200" bass adapter/tuner and mid/liner, it runs strong on top and purrs like a kitten at the dock. The people on our 640-acre private lake never complain about the noise. If I had a 55-mph jetboat with open headers, they'd be bitching and hollering about "those damned loud speedboats."

Rather than being the punk kid with the fart can pipe on his compact car, I've always thought it was cooler to have a quiet idling, well-mannered sleeper of a motor that screams beyond people's expectations. Speaking of screaming, it's a lot like being a short, skinny guy who's well-hung. I don't need to wear a t-shirt that says "I have a huge ****." The shock-and-awe element is way better.
