Yeah I saw it , I see its all redone , I thought it was new at first glance, They won`t put twins on it unless someone calls and says they want twins, But I bet they would rig it with 2 V6 mercs because they have a few motors and some matching lift off cowls. The way the transom is set up is awesome , I will email you some spy shots .

    Hey

Pick up my Challenger and dropped off Johns. Had my notch and some hull cracks fixed. Am very please with the work and more so with the friendship I have found with Joey Impresia and Joe (Dirk Pitt). Two stand up guys. Thanks again to East Coast Performance Marine and Bob, sorry I never got to meet you. Here are some pics of the piece they cut out for the notch. Transome was dry as the desert.

And before anyone says it, The rollers are going!!

Mike what amazed me was the condition of the balsa transom, the boat according to the designer was orginaly a race boat, it was solid, dry, and had no signs of fatigue in any of the areas that were inspected, anyway I had a great lunch and Im glad I got to see Rich's modified Alpha drive on the bench today, it really is a nice piece,
And last but not least, what a (good) character Stinkie Finger John is.

I know theres are going to be some eyebrows raised as to why this paticular boat was worked on by ECMP rather than Raybo Marine, the fact is that some of the exsisting notches were done at ECMP to meet spacific requests by the rigger and tester, meaning Joey, Robs work is by far some of the best Fiberglass work I have seen, but when guys are spliting hairs to get every ounce out of there boat, sometimes its just easer for the rigger to over see the project under is own roof.
also Mike had the benifit of the orginal boat designer and builders input, which was priceless to him.

who can argue with that construction?

you can take your epoxy and your composite cores and hope they might stand the test of time like those hand laid materals did.

    Hey

My brother in law (Fastshafts) supplied me with this pic of a challenger racing down here in the Barnegat Bay in the 80's I believe. Evinrude power painted black. Maybe someone will know the boat. Very distinct color.
