Fuel Economy on 250 suzuki's vs yamaha 4 strokes
I'm looking ot put a couple of engines on my 3440 proline , and I'm looking ot know which of these engines is more economical and around howmany GPH would twins of these be dooing in comperable boats if at all possible , thank you

I think the fuel flow meter is only relatively new for Suzuki???.I could be wrong ,After 80hrs on a 30ft Cat with twin 250 dfs from cruising to WOT runs i have averaged 9ghp,which i think i V good ,im not a real fuel economy type .I hope someone responds a bit more accurately so i can see the figures as well.

check out the gear ratios on the Suz's
on the 200 's the gears are 2.29 to 1, they turn a 16" dia prop, my experience the Suz will run about 500 rpms less than the Yammi at cruising speed, about 10 to 15 percent better fuel burn.

thanks , does anyone have GPH numbers on the Yamahas? oh know of a site that could help me out with this question?

Tem check out yamahas site they have performance bulletins there, it may be they have one of your model of boat or at leest something close
