    Old tether boats and cars

Here is an interesting site regarding the early days of model powerboats and cars . All engines and boats were handmade and paved the way for thr RC explosion of the 70's . Look around on here , some fascinating stuff !

I had some of the Cox engined toys in the late 60's I had several of the airplanes that you flew with the two strings, a dragster that followed a string that you had to setup on a paved surface, and a dune buggy that was slow enough that you could chase it around. You could set the wheels either straight, or a right or left circle. I wish I still had all of them now. I never got to own any of the real remote controlled ones.

Those are some really cool design boats. Interesting that they are still doing that today. That is how it started here in the U.S. too but as far as I know no one is running tethered boats here. I bet a tethered boat going round and round at 135 mph is wild to watch!
