    Question F1 /Offshore V8 exhaust

Does anyone have a photo or parts manual on a V8 exhaust with the water cover off?
I am interested to see how the removable exhaust was done.

    Thanks

There is no water jacket in the F1 exhaust cover. When the back cover is removed, there is just 4 big oval exhaust ports with 2 cylinders feeding into each port.

Exhaust cover bolts on with a bunch of 1/4-20 screws. Once it is off, you could put any kind of exhaust you like on these motors.

Only the F1 block. The production V8 has the rear cast on the block.

Are you saying that its not a cover to a cooling cavity like a 235 but a jacket over a dry cavity?

    Exactly.

Except for 2 water exit passages at the top of the exhaust back plate, there is no water jacket.

    Thanks
Havn't go a photo have you?
I was wondering how much work to modify a V6 so you could have access to the pipes after the ports?

I don't know about all the f1 v8s but mine has a water jacket in the bolt on exhaust similiar to the 235. The tell tale water tube comes from here.
