    2006 E-Tec 200 H.O.

Roughly how much HP did the '06 200H.O. put out? And more importantly, have there been any major reliability issues with the early E-Tec motors? Especially this '06 E-Tec 200 H.O.?

My guess would be somewhere around 225hp. I don't think you should have any problems with that motor as long as its been cared for properly. I have an '07 225 (non HO) which has been great.

Im sure some of the pros on here will chime in on what the actual hp rating is.

They did change some oiling on either the '08 or '09 big block. I have also heard the the H.O. models no longer have the "oil economy" mode for XD100.

Have a good E-Tec dealer hook up his laptop & check the Oil Setting. Have him set it to the TC-W3 setting which is the best for HO models. The recomended & best oil is BRP's XD100 oil.

Does that mean that motors programmed for the XD-100 oil did have some problems? Are the '05-07 powerheads the same? 200-225H.O.'s?

05-07 200HO powerheads are the same. 08 featured new injectors, and the addition of a second oil distribution manifold.

The early HO models could utilize the XD50 or XD100 setting. Now, none of the HO motors support it. The minute your dealer hooks up the laptop and does a map update, it will automatically change it to the XD50 (now renamed "Rich") oil setting. They found that the motors were running too lean on oil in the low rpm ranges. I haven't really noticed any significant increase in oil consumption on the "rich" setting.

I am averaging about 1 gallon of oil per every 100 gallons of fuel or so on the rich setting...
