just a hint .... what would be a start setback for a Big 3.0L V6 Merc for My HST ??

I've tried 4'' up to 14'' and, to my feelings the 14'' was a whole lot more fun.

    Hi Tony,

Can you show some pictures of the strakes? I heard about this mod but never seen it? Aren't there also extra sprayrails in the tunnels? What kind of performance with the 200? Thx

The other(white with red, grey, black, multi color sceme) I'm restoring so its lighter, stronger and hot rodding a Rude 3.4ltr w/16in mid for it. Still at least a month out on this one before I get her wet again.

Where are all the hst owners?

I ran mine a couple of times. Boat runs good. Still have the propshaft deep because I have a stock 200 lower. I'm about 3" below.
Ran an 28 chopper and 29 srx. Both blow out at about 85mph. This is with a stock 2.5 200.

Very excited how it should run with a LWP or a cle. Low 90's was my goal (150km/h). W'll see if that will work or not...

I will install a trim meter gauge and prob also side steering this winter.

    I added some videos.

There are 2 ae21 with 300 pro max. Another with 250ho. Weight is no problem. There was also An hst with 300x that ran real hard.

Weight Will not Be a problem. Good setup is key To succes.

I think about 8 maybe. But hard to say. Depends on the weight of the boat and weight distribution. At100plus on here had an hst with 3litre rude 225 indicator with 3 cmc jackplates bolted to each other.

Dabull had an hst with 3litre merc. Ran great from what he told me. Might contact him or maybe he will jump in.

I have a 12" bobs action, dont really wanna spend $1200 for an 8 lol,my boat will be all freshly restored with no foam, but will be heavy with fishin' tackle at times, i love to bass fish, and i have a paramount 21 to fish, but sometimes you just gotta' spank some other bass boats, kinda like an ally with a livewell and a troller.

Maybe Bob's might sell just the sides of the jack seperately. Worth a try if 12" might be too much. I think 12" is quite some...

I have a 2.5 200 and 10" setback. I feel it might benefit with some more setback but think will leave as it is.

Too small for what? It ought to go 90+ with that motor; even bolted directly to the transom.

    ok, Here are some numbers.

I have a 3.0L merc, carbed with an Hoss prop 15''X 30'' and a PARALIFT Jackplate from mercury with 8'' setback and SeaStar Hydraulic steering.

My last run this fall was 155km/h all alone with half full fuel tank located in the back (25 gals max).

Here is the vidéo of multiple runs at 154 to 155km/h.

Varmint, what is your goal? How fast do you want to go? Go out alone most of the time or with passengers?
