left rotation gear #
I have twin 89 2.4 EFI's, the counter rotating lower has a bad clutch and forward gear. RL has a set of gears that have the same number as mine except mine has a /2 and his does not. Would his gears be the same as what I have? The number is 43-44104/2 on mine, and 43-44104 on his. Does the /2 mean anything important? Any help would be appreciated.

No
Outboard gearcase have different parts in them to change the rotation.
If OMC you also need to know if the left hand is in the gearbox or lh powerhead rotation
