Not from what I have read. In fact just the opposite. Then you have to deal with battery disposal.

i think shutting a car off in the quest for mileage is really getting a little ridiculous, not to mention again the safety aspects, driving in a normal manner(without pissing off the the person behind you!) is more sensible

Ok Pyro here something to contimplate....I run marvel Mystery Oil in my bike ( Mostly when I go to bike events where it's hot and Idleing alot) I have found that it runs smoother and idles beter with it in it. I use about 1 once per gallon....My other thought is to try trans fluid........ it doesn't burn (well) lubercates the parts ( I can remember doing this as a lead substitute back in the day for the vavles) anything that doesn't burn increases compesion and will make better power with the same amount of fuel....that brings me to the next thought I also remeber someone use a water injection system...it used the washer bottle as a storage tank and was atomized through the intake system......

The ol' Escape averaged 28.9 MPG on the last tank. That was my week of work commuting, and a lot of 60-65 mph semi-drafting on the freeway at the tail end of that tank.

I think the police will call that "following too close" and will issue a citation if you are caught. I drive a semi from time to time and can't stand a tail gater!

I follow at a good 6 to 8 car lengths at 60-65 mph, not nearly as close as the average driver.

The evil guys driving those no-good hybrids are hypermiling and getting 80-100 mpg, not too bad. The American auto industry is really missing out.

How the hell are you guys getting 23 in a full size pickup?

I have an 06 F350 Dually diesel 4x4 and it gets 15 at best. It has a rack which can't be good. My 03 F350 Diesel 4x4 SRW 6 speed manual got 19mpg. Are your trucks 4wd?

I have the jetta for 50+ MPG and the truck for truck stuff.

I get 23 out of my '01 3500 4X4 at 60 mph. At 75, it gets over 16 running the A/C wide open, campershell FOS, and pulling a boat.

    You bought the wrong truck!
