What year, and...
is it a super mag or a Mariner Magnum? There is a difference between Super Magnum and just Magnum.

I think the 200 Supermag is basically a 200 Pro Max. If you have the CLE gearcase, solid mounts, lightweight cowling, fiberglass reeds, that's what it is.

Color is the only difference. Super Magnum and ProMax are the same componently (is componently even a word?).

Not tha same as tha 225 PM/SuperMag. 200 PM/SuperMag has five petal front. 225 has 7 petal front......... "componently" might be a Bush word

Original question was difference between 200 ProMax and 200 SuperMag. You're correct in that there's a lot of differences between 200 and 225 - porting, ECU, front half, etc.

What is the difference between the 150 super magnum and the 200 super magnum?
Does the 150 also have solid mounts and fiber glass petals?
Is the 150 super magnum a quick engine compared to the other 150 hp out there?

The difference is in porting, tuner, etc. It has the same features as all the other Super Magnums/ProMaxes - plastic reeds, hard rubber motor mounts, lightweight hood, etc. The 150s had the option of coming with the CLE/SportMaster gearcase, a torquemaster (no low water pickups) as well as an XR6 gearcase option. They were all slightly faster than the standard 150 XRi but not a ton faster....they put out 165 HP - the max allowable.
Put a 200 tuner on there and add a little compression and you've got a really good motor.Sam Baker

The Mag 3 is equivalent to the XR6. More fun than a regular 150, but no solid mounts, no CLE, lower rev limit.

ive got a mag 3. lost main oil line and lost 3 pistons. bought it cheap. im gonna buy 6 piston kits to make sure and ill probably get bearings to boot. bores are good, just had transfer. going on a varmint, same as a vecter. i want to rebuild the motor stock with some clean up and ad the tuner and stacks and add the low water pickup, do away with the oil and see what she does. i would really like to get a 200 block and go from there but then id have to do the carbs and jets thing. what ive learned,80 with a 150 set up rite. wanna go faster with what i have.
