225 Optimax VS. 225 ProMax???

hi, I am going to replace my old 1985 merc carb 200 this summer and was wondering if I should go with a 225 optimax or 225 promax?

I hear the 225 promax makes close to 240 hp at the prop? what does the opti make at the prop? and what about mpg ? vs. the opti? what would be the best motor for me, I have about 6k in the budget and want to go faster than I did last summer. any advice would be helpful. thanks Roger

I really think you would only get 3-4 mph diff with the Promax but the Opti, depending on the year will get MUCH better gas mileage. Do you know how many hours are on these engines, that would be a big deciding factor.
