If it's still here to run, might be on the selling block soon. Remember I'm at 51 mph with a need for more pitch and no jackplate yet I'm sure there's another 5 mph left in that old school carbed 90. If I keep the boat for this summer, a Merc V6 is going on the back, we better run em before that.

BS on the reliability of the Nissan/tohatsu

I wouldn't own another Nistank-tocrapsu if you gave it to me, Merc decals won't change that. I sure wish someone would post a link to the facts, I'd like to see with my own eyes that the 25 efi Merc is in fact a rebadged nissan. Or is Merc making it for them? Whats the weight on that 25-30 etec? Hope it's not like the pig heavy 240 lb 40 etec they have now.

    hey

go to tohatsu's website, compare the essentials, bore and stroke, weights on all 4 bangers, everything is the same but on the 25/30 merc uses their own plastic on the cowl, the bolts on the japanese lower unit are the same, the whole this is 100% identical, only the 15 is like i said a yamaha, the 40-60 is the Yamaha designed powerhead but instead of beeing built in Japan like 2004 now it has been done in China, oh well......All I have heard on the 25/30 is that they look just like a mini 40-60, twin cylinder, just smaller, hopefully it is light but like we have discussed in the past the yammie f40, which leads the pack in weight is a very old design and quite Dainty, carbed, etc, very reliable though but a anchor for performance, ie. honda......I will keep ya informed sir, thanks :bs:
