set back spacers
Am going to add 4" set back spacers to my set up to give me 8.5" of total setback including the jackplate.my question is which way to rig it Bolt up the spacer to the transom then jackplate to the spacer or jackplate to transom then spacers then motor motor is v-8 johnson on a checkmate spectra, thanks for the help

IMHO spacers to transom,plate to spacers!Ice will leave Caroga this weekend,how's Piseco!

Depends on the spacers..... and jackplate. Some jackplates don't have the same bolt pattern at the transome as the motor has.. So my answer is wherever it fits.

still ice on lake but on the bright side hinkley resevoir down by utica is all open and running over the spillway big time nick what is imho still new to this cyber stuff lower unit seals come in this week along with new head gaskets and intakes, gonna tear oopen the top end and check things out see if the work that was supposed to be done to this motor really was eg. fingerporting heads milled etc. good thing i took the motor downstate last winter still 2' snow banks blocking boat in

sorry,in my humble opinion!!Phastboat once posted all the internet abbreviations,but I never copied them!We have an island of slush in the middle of Caroga,so I guess we can say it's out!Too bad the boat isn't ready!
