Predictive Index Survey?
Has any body taken one of these and how did it affect your chances for gaining employment. Also, how accurately do you think it described your own behavioral traits. I think the company was PI Worldwide. Hoping for some feedback.

I have taken one right before I went in for the interview, it was very strange. In fact, the guys I was interviewing with gave to me while they waited outside in the hallway. I never heard about the results, but I didn't get the job.

Ok, so I got the results back. They were very positive. Still don't know about the job yet, but we will see.

I remember one of those "surveys" at an interview. I spent about 2 minutes scanning it before throwing it in the garbage. Then telling the company to have a nice day. Upon leaving I concluding it was time to start my own business. The same as their's which I did and years later took them out. These are the same company's that think meetings are the answer to any problem that arises. Just like the Dodo they become extinct.

I actually went to that web site, and had more questions. As a matter of fact I tried to contact you. I recognize your name from another message board that I found when I was researching this survey, but never got a response.
The results were very insightful and seemed fairly accurate when I shared them with others that know me.
I did not get the job, but I found out later, that they were already in salary negotiations with another applicant before I even applied, but no one could say that. It turns out I know the guy who got the job, I spent some time in California with him and I can't complain about loosing out to him. He is a heck of a nice guy and we are still in occasional contact. I think he would be a good guy to have in my corner if another position were to open up there.
I am currently doing some consultation and training for one of the biggest contractors in my area. I think they are in the top 50 nationwide. I am spending time training their technicians, and helping with the efficiency of the proccesses, as well as some design standards for certain applications. The word is getting out and I will see where this goes. I certainly enjoy sharing what I know and empowering others to do it on their own. There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing. –Aristotle

It's kind of funny, I actually train and provide support for the products that the company, where I did not get the job, produces. I will never match them as they are probably in the top 5 globally, but it still feels good to be able to provide support for their products and not be bound to only theirs.
I used to laugh at one company I worked at, that guy would have a meeting to appoint a committe to meet and investigate an issue, whose members would have their own meetings with outside sources to gather information for the next meeting of the committe, so they could get the story straight for the next meeting between the owner and commitee, well, I know what you're saying. There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing. –Aristotle
