200 +/10% at 5000 - 5750 would be the official brochure answer.
It's not a high performance motor, so it probably is close to 200.

kostas, i was told by our merc racing buddy who definitely would know, see i asked him why they dont make a competitor for the etec 200 ho, he said besides the decals and the minor difference on the inside they wouldnt gain much, he said it is a pretty reliable 220hp unit, and i believe him, i dont mention names ever hear or else i dont get the info from merc or my bro's at evinrude, but its a very reliable number.....any questions email me bud, worner_brannon@yahoo.com have a good one Brannon

yea those 3 liters are animals, i sell merc and etec and man if i were buying today i would be hard pressed, in the 150's i would go etec, in the 200 regular, opti, but the 200ho is the 3.3 liter with supposedly 220hp, but 225 wouldnt be to far of a stretch, i just cant wait for the 250 ho vs. 250 pro xs, all reports i have read have the etec at 274 hp and 300ft lbs of torque, where the merc pro xs is 22 hp and 279 ft lbs of torque, either way performance is alive and well Brannon

well on the optis, the only real difference on the 200-225 is ECU tuning, there is 272( approx 250ProXS HP) in it if you were to accuire the 250 pro XS ECU , injectors, reeds and port map, as they all share a common block, and since your racing it if your class allows if Id be looking for a popped 250XS to steel parts from and measure up if it were me... the XS uses a different compressor so that would be a nice item to have as well..

Yes, both on 21 Checkmate bowriders. Same prop even. I have 200 and 225 Opti's for sale too.
