original 1973 glastron /carlson cv 16
Hello my name is Jason Roberts this is a cool site i love reading it and looking at the pictures.Anyway I have this cool old glastron carlson 1973 cv16 you probably wont believe my little story but it s true .Dad bought it brand new in June of 1973 from Hanks in Raymond IL. he used it the first couple of summers then it sat a couple years in the garage about 1978 -79 my sister and i learned to water ski behind it then it sat in the garage a couple more years until he built a 48' shed and stuffed it in the back its blue metalflake and white with a 1973 115 tower of power its been 23 years since its seen water last cause its been in the back corner of the shed covered up since 1984 and it was only used twice that summer when my uncle came to visit then returned to that cool and dark corner. I did bring it out on the driveway a couple more times to wash and fire up that was 15 years ago anyway this year my wife and i helped him clean the garage and shed out she asked if we could get the old boat out he agreed but said it probably needs work engine and such pulled it out removed the cover still looked and smelled new everything is mint inside the engine and interior i sprayed a little oil in the cylinders and turned the engine over by hand it was free not frozen installed battery and hooked up the gas it fired up on the second crank i got to i will be back sorry to cut you off

Ok im back we brought the cv16 to my house and gave it a good cleaning and waxing top and bottom then dad and i took it to lake Springfield for a test run it went great called my mother and wife to meet us at the dock to go for a ride that was fun dads 59 and i just turned 38 funny he never let me take it out when i was young and wild! I want to change the prop (need some help on what to get) i want the best top end i can get for this nostalgia boat and engine combo what about a rapture type right now it has a 21p stock mercury aluminum its quick. With manual trim the motor pinned in the third hole away from the transom it has (6 holes) it gets on plane good 15-20 mph and will run 5900 to 6000rpms with the speedo reading 49-50 it goes to 60 will it do any better if i change the pinhole farther away i will try to post you some pictures Jason
