tear down
I was just looking at that motor and video last night. Funny. I did manage to get motor torn down and it was not seized.Just sat out in the elements uncovered fro to long - my 2 cents. 2 of the cylinder walls have rust pretty bad the others are a OK. Pics up later

Dang valves!! Got to always be one or two open to let water in. LOL Do you still have the engine cowling for the boat? Just wondering, I don't recall seeing a picture of it. I'm thinking about doing a little moding to mine. I'm thinking about doing away with the two rear seats. Nobody will sit back there. It's kinda loud and extremely uncomfortable. Toying with after the seats are gone bringing a set of headers through the cowl and over the transom. It's just an idea.

HELL if it's just the water jacket weld it bore it slap some new slugs and bearings in her and run it..just make sure the rest of the block is ok by the look of the rubber plugs it's not the first time if popped a plug.............Notice the threaded plug next to the rubber one.......remove it and put in a petcock so you can drain it quick and easy.....same on the other side and in your headers.......BRASS!!!!!!!!!
Keep in mind this is only ok if your cheap like me and like to keep the old stuff alive and around..

not trying to be a wise guy but if its gonna take to much to rebuild I would go with a chevy.
should be easy to find parts to swap over.I beleave I have most of the stuff.
olds have oiling problems, and dont like to be run very hard without lots of cash put into them.
I also beleave I have a 455 block,will have to look first.

Soak it down good with the blaster .. let it sit for a week or two adding a fresh shot now and then. When it begins to grip down past the rings tap the pistons out. I have done this several time and most times the pistons free up without damaging the walls.

if you can build an engine for less than this, more power to you. If you do you still have an Old's

thanks for the info. i will call them tommorrow and see what i can find out. you're right though, the windshield looks real similar. i've seen glastron carlson boats with windshields similar also. ive always wondered if another one would work off of a different boat. here's a pic of her beached on the river. thanks again. anyone else with ideas, send 'em my way...
