1992 Evinrude XP 200 hp...
Just finished installing new hoses from fuel tank to outboard. Also greased up the vent springs on the fuel tank, I want to say? Anyway, when I'm just going no idle out on the lake (going very slow) the engine will cut off. It did this before, thats why I replaced everything, but its still doing it. Its actually not as bad a before, which is nice. The thing is, a have to press in the choke button occassionaly just so the engine doesn't die. Is this a fuel problem? I think what I may do next is clean the carbs and put in new spark plugs and wires....just trying to get an idea of what I need to do. The timing seems alright...my buddy and I already got that problem fixed a few months ago. Anybody have any advice on what I should do next? Could this be a fuel pump issue? Thanks again for the help guys, Skip

I just got off the horn with a marine shop here in town...he said something about the VRO pump and to change out that filter...said it was on the port side of the engine and is where the fuel/oil mixture goes...he said that for the fuel pump there is a wiring that goes to it...this would mean its electric and not mechanical correct? Thanks for the response, Skip

If you have to bump choke to keep mtr running at slow/idle speed, sounds like your running out of fuel. Thats why I asked if you still use primer bulb? Throw it away!! Electric fuel pump and regulator set 5-6 lb.

Will I still be able to use the VRO system? Where can I get this electric pump at? I assume any marine store may have it. If I do this will the 5-6 psi be to much? Thanks again for the help, Skip
