Charger70's boat is the one Motion35 was talking about. Good to see you're still around Tony. I bet those make a great show piece!

    Hi Keith,
Good to hear from you. Yes they are. i am very proud of them. i spent as much time tunning them as finding out the history. They are very amazing engines. As far as I can tell they are the only set with dual plug cylinder heads from Evinrude. These are not second effort machined heads.
    Thanks
    Tony

    Hi Charger70
Are the plugs canted or parallel?
My F1 v8 has canted twin plug heads (with the funky Alex Hledin patented chambers) which I think all 3.0ltr ones did?

These are the canted plugs also with the Alex Hledin design. I talked with him several times on the design of the heads and the motors. He was part of the reason that when J.W. Marriot (Evinrude Board Of Directors at the time) wanted a fast boat built these engines and the Skater hull (Peter Hledin) was selected.
    Thanks

Interesting......I didn't know Pete or Alex were ever involved with Johnrude. There couldn't have been many Skaters ever rigged with Johnrudes on the back of them. I think I've only seen pics of 21s and maybe a 24 with single V8s on the back, and one or two 32s with twin V8s. I've never seen a 28 with Johnrudes on the back, but not to say it wasn't done at some point!

Custom built for Bill Marriott back when you could buy those motors (390 on pump gas BTW) from a catalog.
The correct sized check will get you what you want.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
