Hydrostream HST Prop
Hello fellow go fast friends,
I have an 89 HST with a 2.5 merc on the back. My cousin met a guy who claims to know pipcorn and the other fellow who built these boats. He also owned one some time ago. He suggested to take my 3 blade 30p chopper off of the boat and swap it for a 4 blade 28p Spinelli. He said it helps lift the boat much quicker than the other. Has anyone had experience with this? <O</O

Hey Boz,
Is that a 3 or 4 blade?
I finally got the floor replaced in the HST. I will post some pics some time. I had to remove about 90% of all the wood. What a job that was.

Mike Balz (balzy) would also be a great person to get in contact with. He runs a 2.5 on his and it looks like he's aced his setup. It also looks like he's wild about the HST...can't blame him !

I ran a 3 blade on my HST for a long time, my particular boat has a harmonic which is crackin things, gearcase housings and props, after the 3rd prop I switched to a 26p mazco re4 and have not regretted it...it runs so much smoother, and for a overall ride prop is excellent. However, for drag racing a 24p yamaha or lightning et is still the ticket....

Its amazing how heavy a GPS can be.....

never saw an et that was'nt 3 to 5 slower
Weve tried et's and they have nevered carried enought. We have tierd them on hydrostream's,allision's.
I own mazco 28 re3,26,28,30 re4's 27,30,31dr4 spenellis 24alabama cut chopper and a couple of clevers and by far the best it a 30 dr4 I had made for the boat is the best.
It keeps up with the boys running smaller props and runs over 110 any time you want. It's also the best driving.
The 28 re3 ran 108 with my 260 on it with 15" set back.
1350lb hull 300x 12"setback 1.5 to 2 above the pad (the boat needs a hyd. plate because at that height it will hook to the rt at low speed)
If I can be of any help give me a call russ 860-345-8721

HST Prop
I have a 1990 HST w/a 280, 14" setback, 1.5"-2" above the pad. So far she has run 104 w/a 14" 30 spinelli 3blade and 102 w/a 15" ron hill 5blade et. The 5blade ron hill has been a great all around. In the spring I will be fine tuning the setup on this boat looking for a little more speed. Hope this info helps...
