    Australian Bullet's

    G'day,

Just bought a Australian Bullet 1650 with a 175 Merc on it. Looking for any info/hints/tips on either the hull or motor. Think the motor is around an 1981 model. Hull is probably newer.

    Cheers

hi ive got a bullet 1450 which i am selling without a motor at the moment, but i am in a desperste need of a bullet 1650, with or with out trailer. i do not need a motor. i would just like to know if a super strangler johnson v4 will move the 1650 and will a crossflow worked to ccc specs will be over powering for this size? my work mate has a orange bullet 1850 with a 280 efi merc on a offshore trunk and low water pick up gbox and is doing 86.5 mph with a 28p suzuki prop. will a 1650 be able to do speeds over 70mph? it probably will anyway but will it be stable , obviesly i know it will porpoise but with the correct driving will it be a fun boat? just a little info, here in australia the bullet 1750 is one of the fastest single hull power boats and done a australian record and still holding it since the early 90's at 114mph. the 1650 is a good skiing boat and wakebording boat, a 1450 with a light engine is a very good river racer or calm to smooth open water boat and the 1850 is a all rounder ski/race/speed and wakeboard boat. i pesonally like the 1650 because it can take a johnrude v4 and will handle a v6 outboard, well thats what ive seen. sorry for the instant message but its just my 2cents, please if anyone knows a where abouts of a 1650 around autrsalia please let me know. a bit of info on my 1450. on my bullet it is actually a milligan nipper 14.5 race boat, it had a stock inline 6 but when i got the boat the engine was in the bin, i got my super strangler and i am doing 71mph on gps, but because the boat has seen better days and it was only my 1st boat i am upgrading to a larger newer boat, as this little one may be fun, it is just a little to small for my v4.

    thanks you dennis.

Hi there, i can tell you now a 1650 will definately do over 70mph.... For example mine has run 98mph gps with a stock 2.5 260 efi.

Boat doesnt porpoise, and it handles almost as well as a 1750...

    Dont underestimate the 1650!

Heres mine... BTW with time i know it will do 100... Thats a full weight 1650, carpet, seats for 5, all safety gear etc etc

    G'day fella's,

Good to see that there are some Aussies out there. Adam what year is your hull?

Bought mine about 2 months ago. Still havent had it out yet but I'm heading to Mulwala for 4 days the week after next. Started it yesterday and realised it needs a good service. Oh well its only money. Will post some decent pix of it soon.

(At least its a good step from a Pride Cheetah

    Cheers

    bullet 1650,

that is one of the most impressive 1650 i have evr seen and how low it sits it is incredible, but its funny though because that engine looks identical to my mates engine on his 1850 and he is doing only 86.5, i'm not saying your boat is not doing those speeds, cause i agree my mates engine runs a little bad, but with your 260 doing 98mph on a little 1650 that must be quick,

good luck with getting 100mph if i got 80mph with my super strangler i will be happy. and thank you for your repley, great picture, i'm jelouse lol

    Adam,

Just out of curiousity what pitch/style prop are you running? Will is still pull slalom easily or have you set it up for pure speed?

Any idea what mine will run - basic setup is full weight 1650, 175 Merc, 2 inch lift/1 inch setback, 21 pitch Laser 2 prop, me at 100kg?

    Any input appreciated

    Cheers

    Ian
