Wow, having flash backs. I had one of those nickle plated mongoose's Mine was a super goose I believe. Used to ride flat land, pipes and pools. Still mess a round sometime with the neighborhood kids. They think its funny to see the "OLD GUY" do tricks on a bike. Hurts allot longer than I remember. Have fun.

Here's one like I used to have, a blue GT Performer. Mine was either an 86 or 87 (I think)
I didn't have all the gay pads on mine though.
Only thing is; I was just a poser, no racing and couldn't do many cool freestyle moves.

I have been watching BMXers doing tricks at our new skatepark downtown. It blows my mind what some of them can do. The new park is amazing, even Tony Hawk stopped in for a surprise visit.

takes me back to my mongoose and webco days. The stuff they do now though is amazing, glad I could get away with the woosie stuff that used to be considered tricks back in the day.

Greg, I don't know exactly how old you are, but I'm guessing there is a milestone birthday coming up soon and you are not taking it very well!

I had a standard issue Huffy in 1984. A few years later, I got yelled at by my neighbor for fashioning the dirt pile in her yard into a jump ramp. So, then I put a board and a block in the middle of the road, which I soon met with my face.

You should not be too old for physical fun. I ran for 20 years and still miss it. Now I'm trying to nurse my shoulder back to health so I can race swimming. At 48 I'm not stopping. One of my co-workers just took up mountain bike racing at 44.

Before I got my PK I had a mongoose. It was blue at one time; a clear blue over chrome. But I think it may have been nickel because it never was like chome it was more like pewter, not as bright as chrome. I removed what was left of the transparent blue and it looked pretty good. It was a little heavy though, good training for the PK.
At times I wish I had a bmx here to screw with, but don't really have time to ride. Can't get out on my mountain bike much but I just don't like doing anything with that but fairly normal riding. I don't feel safe on that thing (doing any fun bmx related stuff) and its even a small frame for my size, it's no wonder people get hurt on them all the time. The tires work great but its just an old 10 speed when it comes to handling. In fact it is a mongoose too, a fairly good aluminum one. Its not the bike, it just isn't a bmx.
But I hear you guys, you have to be careful because you are not going to jump back up as fast as you did 20yr ago. I just wonder how my knees would take a bmx again, because I am not short. Yes, they do some serious stuff with those bikes these days...I think half the time we didn't because we knew we would break the bikes. That was a big problem back when I was into it.
