    1960 Magnolia cat resto

I inherited a side project of overseeing the resto of my boss' 1960 Magnolia catamaran. 1962 Merc 100's. Hope you enjoy the Pictures. Capt. Greg

Great looks really good. About 3 Rumbles ago there was a yellow and white one with twin 110s on it. Could that be the same one? Rick

I can neither confirm nor deny that this was the boat at Ted's . I also do not think that this one was the yellow one. When it was acquired it had some sort of bracket and a single on it. El Hefe (the boss), has something for the Mag's as they have quite a bit of history 'tween each other.

If anyone has tips on how to resize the pics or do them in thumbnails, feel free to help me. "You see the thing is, Mister Coach Kline, Bobby(Greg) don't exactly have what you call social(computer) skills."

My Ffriend Whitey McAdams in Springfield Ohio has one.

That is the one you are thinking of Rick and he still has it.
    Awesome boat.
Whitey tried to get me a ride (at the Rumble) in it and I could'nt sneak away long enough to do it.
I watched him though and thought how cool that "old antique" was.
    Until he launched it!!
Twin 2 blade brass wheels and all.
The thing was a freagin rocket out of the hole and flew too!
The sound of the twin old in lines was something else too.
    Very cool!

I grew up screaming on the water in one of these...and still have it. My dad is the original owner of a 1961 Magcat. He and his twin brother are both still around and just turned 82. I am looking into restoring it so that they can have a little fun in it.

Are there any others out there? Counting ours I think that makes 4 that I have seen. We are getting ready to dig it out of storage so I'll post some pics soon.

    Matt

I remember that boat. Seems to me it was just about the last of the traditional twin engine cats. V-bottoms replaced the cats. 4 point hydros replaced the v-bottoms. Finally tunnels replaced them all.
