    what to use on mating surface of crank cover

    what to use on mating surface of crankcase cover and cylinder block. over the cork strip ??????? my manual calls for permatex 2c-12 . i found in the past that what the manual calls for sometimes dont exist or they changed the number over the years . so what should i use ????????????? thanks

    Ditto. Locktite does make a similar product, don't remember the #, but I bought some the other day and can get the # tommorw if you need it. I usually get it at the omc dealer I use but didn't want to go by there. locktite probably makes it for omc... don't over do it on that stuff, when you squeeze the block togther, a little goes a long way. a little bead, smaller than a pencil lead is plenty.

    if you know the number and it is not to much trouble i could use the number of the lock tight . thanks for the help
