Are you buying it, selling it, or just interested in value???? Need more information.
If it is in fact an UNDER 15' Allison they were intended for smaller engines than the inlines sixes................ like the 4 cyl Mercs and 3 cyl OMC's.Membership upgrade options: http://www.screamandfly.com/payments.php

The engines are very durable IF (big if) a previous owner hasn't hurt it and you don't hurt it yourself. If you do buy it, there're a lot of people here that can give you advice on proper care and feeding to give it a good chance of living a long, happy life.Membership upgrade options: http://www.screamandfly.com/payments.php

Ironically an 850XS might be worth as much as a 1500XS in today's crazy market. They don't have NEAR the utility value of their bigger brother, but they seem much harder to find, especially in good working condition. In all the years of buying all these 1500XS's I've only run across one decent 850XS.

I cant tell u what the compression is on tho's motors but i can tell u if the compression on all 6 cylinders is equal then the rings are still good. Ive never owned a inline 6 but my dad had a brand new 1974 merc 150 and he poped the motor alot and everytime it blew it was the top cylinder so check that. Thats all i can tell u about tho's motors. My dads old boat was a 1974 Kennedy Stingray (14ft) rated for a 75hp and my dad put the 1974 merc 150 that i was talking about earler on the kennedy, put it this way that boat would scream it was running 68mph and my dad said that boat was extremly dangerous thats why he sold it. The boat was prob the fastest outboard boat on the lake, the ally is a faster hull and the 1500xs is alittle faster so when u take that boat out bring some extra underwear
