The only good that came from the K car was the 2.2 turbo motor than found its way into much cooler bodies later in life. Hell given the choice, I'd take an Omni over a Reliant, Caravelle, Aries etc.

Anyone remember the GLH and GLHS Omni's?

Maureen, if you're brave enough to admit you owned a K car, I guess I should be man enough to admit to owning a Mercury Bobcat.

I had a K-Car in Hi Skool back in the 80's. Gotta love vinyl seats for the cleanup after a hot date.

Yeah, I had someone try to run me in the Z28 with a Shelby GLHS once. It was pretty fast until the light turned green . I know they were sort of quick, but come on...

ROFLMAO!!! (wiping tears from eyes) freakin hilarious!

They were cool cars for what they were, much like the SVO.

The SVO is way cooler than the GLHS. Wasn't "GLHS" an acronym for "Goes Like Hell Shelby"?

I always liked the SVO, and I would gladly own one. They are pretty rare and always get looks from those that know.

    GLH - Goes Like Hell
GLHS - Goes Like Hell Somemore.

In 1986 the SVO was rated at 205 hp. It's V8 counterpart at 215. The SVO had 4 wheel disk brakes, 16", 5-lug wheels and Koni Shocks from the factory. The GT? Drums, 15" 4 lugs, and standard Motorcraft fare. It was nearly 10K more which pretty much shot the car in the foot.

LOL - I never thought about it that way. I was just happy my amp fit in the back seat!

PS - Pounder, I not only admit owning one, I actually liked it.

You might not have had the last laugh if it had been a 1991 or 92 Spirit RT 2.5 DOHC turbo with the getrag 5 spd, those little square 4 door cars made a fool out of many a V-8 in the 1/4 mi. and with the ability to run 140 mph top end was no let down too.

No!!, the only good that came out of a K-car was a BEER can made out of it.

I didn't think the sheetmetal was thick enough for beer can production.

I had one of those too.... You don't really have to saw them in half -- just wait a bit longer and it'll rust itself in half..
Currently involved in activity that can only break one piston at a time......
