The Vandal was built in late 1977 and debuted as a '78 model. It was designed as a replacement for the Vixen model. Rated for 90 HP in '78 it was then downrated to 80 HP in '79. The last Vandal was built in apx. 1988. The mold never changed from the beginning.

The Vandal is a great starter boat for the high performance boating novice, but it can also turn into an awesome drag racing monster for the serious pro.

For several years, the "Limited Edition Vandalizer Package" was offered. This included: "steel blue metalflake deck with trichromatic phaser shearline stripes and black hull, black anodized grab rails and black 2+2 seating." Wow!

Thumbs up see a 245HP on one...

When I raced the Coushatta, La race, they wuz a lil yeller Vandle there wit a 245 hp merc on it...it wuz a hand full, on launch, but layed down and run purdy good...245 merc, so U could put a 500HP evinrude to cum close to making the same HP az the merc...I would suguest puttin a tractor innertube around that SLOMC and inflating it befo ya put it on that Vandle...OMC's are slow, but really don't run good laying on the bottom ov da canal...see ya at da Rumble...wit a can of "ass whoop" wit yo name on it...REX

    Talking Rex

You gonna need more dan one can I thought I heard
somethin about a yeller one wit a big Merc on it. I think the
weight of the OMC's might jus limit the motor size .

    vandalidiot

woodco had one in my shop a few years ago guy was supposed to have drag raced it. had a 260 horn mtr ss on it had a giant bottle bracket in boat. i cant believe any drag organizetion would even tech something like it but had a bunch of inspection stickies in boat. the most interesting thing was it had two GIANT trim tabs hung off back must have been 2 foot or more back with turnbuckles to transom. what a trailer full of crap!! this thing should have had two black diamonds with a skull and cross bones on deck. rumor had it that it would boggie 10 second class. there was a good chance to catch a card carrying loon just need a big net or possible the crocidile idiot on tv! just jump on him as he leaves the hold rope ya can wrestle him down as he drives up track
and i thought i was nuts for all the crap i drove!!

I'd like to run it into the 80's but don't think I would wanna push
it any higher ....... especially with any waves on the lake

    Good luck with the Vandal

If thats a vandalizer are you converting it to center steer. Mine with a inline Merc is a handfull at 60 with my fat ass (240lb) hanging off to one side. The V6 crossflow on my project boat used to be on a Vandal so I'm sure it will float. Need a 15" mid with no set back though. The V6 crossflow I'm working on for the project boat will end up on the Vandal next year.

    Keep us posted

Nice rig Rob King. Good to see a fellow fat ass(I'm 275) getting pushed across the lake by an inline 6.
