Adjusting pulley cable steering
How tight should this be?
Mine seems loose after we adjusted it , it's a bear to try and hold the steering straight and pull the cable tight and tighten down the clamp at same time.
This is is on an xr2001 with wing plates any tips would be appreciated!!

I get my kid to hold the steering wheel straight and I tighten the cables and clamps.
its not difficult to get it tight, it's next to impossible to get tight with the wheel straight.

Lower the motor a little (maybe 1/2" or so), get it as tight as you can, then raise it back to where you want it. Alternatively....if you're running a 15" with the Alli wings, it probably won't maintain the same tightness while trimmed all the way down as it will at level or all the way up. Find where it is most loose and make that the point where you pull it tight. At a minimum, you want it tight enough so that you can't pinch the two cables (from pulley to anchor point) and make them touch.
