Another picture in this book shows me driving the #11 boat passing Erwin Zimmermann of Austria in his yellow/red Molinari/Johnson V6 RS entry on the inside.
This race was for me a very big thing.
Well..you can also see Angelo Vassena standing on our #11 Molinari/Saffa boat in the line up for the start of the race. (last picture)
R.I.P. my friend.

Yesterday I was contacted by Cathy McConnell. Always great the hear from the McConnell's. She asked for my address and there is stuff in the mail for me.
I cant wait to get the package.
We have been to Needles, CA twice to visit Jimbo. A few years ago now so maybe time for a stop in Needles, CA again.

This is my FB post from February 2015..
Yesterday I received a different looking mail from Stafford UK (England)
Could not wait to open up.
Back in the memory lane again.
The start of the London F1-V8 race 1983. My boat is the #8 Burgess/Aspen/ Evinrude V8.
This was a tough race for me..I crashed bad in the Liege, Belgium GP two weeks earlier and did spend some time at the local hospital.
David worked hard to repair the badly damaged race boat in time for the London GP.
You can see my brother Lennart and his friend Olle Magnusson holding the boat just before the start.
Thanks for thinking about me David..makes an old racer like me happy..

One Evinrude V6 Super Strangler and one Johnson V6 Stinger GP 2 liter cross-flow. My guess is 1974 or -75.

Cees van der Veldens Marlboro boats 1975. If you look close they are rigged with different Jonson V6 2 liter engines. Long shaft, short shaft. I think two is the looper and the rest cross-flow.
