ID:	378742 I know, I know, it has been a while, life sometimes gets in the way. But to day I took delivery of a newly painted Wellcraft Nova 230 XL, finally. It sure was worth the wait, these guys are not just painters they are artists. Other than son Blair and I fairing the work we have done, the paint job it pretty much as the hull came from the manufacturer. We had a late addition of a bowsprit, I decided I needed auto anchoring. I am very, very happy with the paint, now to start rigging. :-)

Yip if a jobs worth doing it worth doing properly!, sure is a nice boat .
Just make sure the rest is of the same HIGH standard !!
Messing round with boats is fun !! the learning never stops ,even after more than 30 years there's always something new happening somewhere ! BUT somethings never change and some problems never go away and just keep reoccurring !!so moved into Composite Forensics , Now that something completely new !!

Thankyou for your kind words and apologies for the late reply. One of the changes in our lives has been a major change in work/recreation balance. We have just got back from a 3 week ship cruise around Australia. Boat finally back in the shed awaiting rigging and I have to leave town to go cruising.
All about earning brownie points so boat time can happen. :-)
My wife is still in remission so life is good. :-)

Well, SJ, that's quite an adventure. I need to maintain a better balance, too. With that in mind I'll take a page from your playbook, so to speak...We're gonna go to the UK this fall & tour. It'll be our 40th anniversary a week from today- and the only thing she wants is to travel and make memories. So off we'll go! (Earning brownie points, too...)

Rigging nearing completion and hoping to get the engine started in a couple of weeks.
Difficulties with sourcing some materials has slowed progress but almost done.
Here is a couple of photos.

    Looks great!

Keep at it, little by little and you’ll get there.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Thanks Marc. It will go in the water soon but still no windscreen and some hatch lids, as I can’t source any Thermo-lite sheets currently. Upholstry is only partially completed but progress is progress and to get this engine running and broken in will be awesome.
